Our new record - 9 million energy customers

RSPB Energy's parent company, the Scottish and Southern Energy group (SSE), has reached the nine million energy customer accounts mark for the very first time.

As part of a continued programme to meet and beat customer expectation, RSPB Energy constantly strives to pass as many benefits to the customer as possible. These include a fair-price policy, UK-only-based call centres and extensive advice on energy efficiency.

These efforts do not go unnoticed and SSE continues to be recognised by the impartial web comparison site uSwitch as Best Overall Supplier*. uSwitch describes the company as the "benchmark for the rest of the industry" (uSwitch.com Customer Satisfaction Report). 

Growth of Scottish and Southern Energy  

The total number of SSE's energy customers has grown by over 500,000 since the start of this financial year on 1 April 2008 and has doubled in the seven years since the end of 2001.

Ian Marchant, Chief Executive of SSE, said: "I am very pleased that seven successive years of growth has enabled us to double our customer base to nine million. It is no coincidence that we have achieved this while being independently recognised as the customer service benchmark for the rest of the industry."
