Scottish Hydro Electric is delighted to be showcasing a number of our innovations at the Royal Highland Show in Ingliston, Edinburgh. The show is the premier event of the rural calendar in Scotland, drawing audiences of more than 150,000 visitors each year. This year the show, from 25-28 June, promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Renewable energy

As well as sponsoring the Renewables area, Scottish Hydro Electric will provide demonstrations of renewable energy, to show how the power of streams, winds and oceans can offer a secure, low-carbon future. We're also the power behind the show, providing all the electricity to the event.

Help and advice for you

We'll have fully trained staff on site to offer help and advice to all our customers on how to make your homes more energy-efficient and save money. So come and see us at the Renewables area - we're looking forward to helping you.

What else is happening?

There’s a huge range of judging events, from cattle and sheep shows to ice-cream making and show-jumping.

Visitors can sample the very best food and drink from the larder of Scotland at the exhibitions and stands.

There’s also a great variety of traditional and modern entertainment, from gospel choirs and equestrian events to terrier racing and cookery for kids.

About our sponsorship

Ian Marchant, Chief Executive of Scottish and Southern Energy, the parent company of Scottish Hydro Electric, said: "Scottish Hydro Electric has a long tradition of producing renewable energy from Scotland's rural areas and so it makes sense for us to support The Royal Highland Show, which brings together people from all parts of Scotland and beyond. With the need for green energy greater than ever before, I hope the show will provide a great opportunity for people to find out more about the part they could play in helping Scotland's rural communities be at the forefront of achieving more sustainable energy future."
